Ravens are scavengers, in times past people associated these marvelous and intelligent birds with the macabre and death. Amazing corvids, they play a prominent role in the mythologies of Indigenous Peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. Nowadays, they're appreciated for their housekeeping ways, ridding the environment of carcasses and keeping small rodent populations in check. Their lustrous feathers are beautiful to look at too. Kenric Laiwakete's Silverado jet raven (or crow) has eyes and a heartline or breath path from inlaid turquoise. About 2 3/8" long, 1 1/2" wide and 7/8" tall.
