Ravens are teachers and agents of change for many Indigenous cultures. An interactive species, they astonish with extraordinary intelligence. For example, Ravens and Wolves hunt cooperatively. Longtime Zuni artist Herbert Halate's rich jet fetish pendant necklace and earrings set honors the beauty of ravens (or crows). He's been carving since 1972. Each corvid has a unique personality, lightly texturized plumage and sensitive eyes from turquoise inlays. The reversible necklace with fine turquoise beads is in the neighborhood of 28" long, while the center bird pendant has flown in at approximately 1 1/2" long, 2 7/8" wide and 1/2" deep. The smallest bird is about 5/8" long from top to bottom, 2 1/4" wide from beak to tail and 3/8" deep.
