This traditional necklace by Albenita Quandelacy Yunie is typical of the older style of fetish necklaces that her mother, Ellen Quandelacy, had made for years. A signature feature of a Quandelacy necklace is the 'naja' carved in the centerpiece animal. This stone loop which the bead cord passes through was conceived by Johnny Quam, Ellen's father, and is used by other Quandelacy carvers as well. Bear, Fox, Wolf, Coyote, Eagle and Hummingbird are of materials like turquoise, both orange and purple spiny oyster shells, mother-of-pearl, Picasso marble, serpentine, black lip shell and pink mussel shell. The size of the turquoise heishe beads compliments the style and size of the fetishes perfectly. The center bear is about 1 3/8" long and about 1 1/8" tall. The overall length of this necklace is approximately 26 1/2" from one end to the other. - $360.00
