Corn Maidens In Cornmeal Bowl Necklace & Earring Set by Todd Westika
A while back, The Museum of Northern Arizona's 'Heritage Program Festival' bestowed an 'Honorable Mention' silver ribbon upon a commanding pipestone sculpture titled 'Six Maidens in a Cornmeal Bowl', a work by Todd in a style similar to this fetish necklace and earring set!
This fossilized ivory corn maiden necklace is about 25 1/2" long, slightly adjustable, featuring a center pendant, 3" long and 1 1/4" wide, displaying six corn maidens emerging from a cornmeal offering bowl, etched with Dragonfly designs. Each maiden has inlaid sterling silver eyes and wears an inlaid turquoise necklace. There are eight other individual corn maidens on this necklace as well, carved with the same care and detail as seen on the center pendant. They are strung with fine heishe shell, turquoise, sterling silver and pearl beads.
The complimentary earrings hang at 2 5/8" long, including dangle fixture, and are 1/2" wide.
Todd is a descendent of carver Johnny Quam. - $900.00
