Iris Maiden by Ray Tsalate
This antler maiden, called 'Iris', is of extraordinary beauty from master talent Ray Tsalate. She's dancing on a substantial section of elk crown where many pink mussel shell petals burst forth. She's embellished with various stones such as turquoise, mother-of-pearl, red coral, malachite, lapis, and pen shell. A wooden pipe or flute is carefully nestled within her gorgeously cross-hatched and inlaid shawl. Her braided hair is adorned with feathers, signifying she's undergoing a religious obligation. They are of mother-of-pearl and fossilized ivory inlaid with lapis, turquoise, and red coral, plus twisted silver accents.
Ray invested a ton of creative energy into this elaborate work, even burning soles onto her moccasins or boots that are traditionally wrapped, like the kid skin legs seen in real life.
Displays beautifully from any angle, about 9 3/4" tall and 6 3/4" wide. Extra shipping charges will apply due to fragility and weight. - $2800.00
