The Altyn Tyube mine in Kazakhstan in Central Asia about 200 miles south of the Russian border, yields Kazakhstan Turquoise or Golden Hills Turquoise. The turquoise deposit was found in 2013 giving up stones with a highly-desirable light blue hue to them as showcased in Joel Pajarito's handmade tufa cast sterling silver ring. A hand symbolizing unity, creativity and even migration is adorned with a straight-lined spiral element. The hand and stone station measure approximately 1 5/8" long, 3/4" wide and 1/4" deep. The size 9 ring's shank is adorned with hand-stamped designs like a raincloud. Signed by the artist along with a feathered friend motif.
